An Accident going somewhere to happen....

Yes this is my poor Kaden. After a rough week at school trying to adjust to all day school (telling me he missed being home with me!? OUCH!) Friday he comes home like this!

He comes home in the door saying Mom you are going to freak out when you see me but it is okay! UM YEA! Oh the poor kid. However, a good nap and some antihistamine helped tremendously! He is so tough!

FOOTBALL is here!

Need I say more? Man, if I ever knew what football was like growing up as a girl was I ever wrong! I should have known when Jaxon's coach called and said it was a new religion and wanted to make sure we were committed! Committed? I really have no choice! Of all the sports Jaxon has played (soccer, basketball, & baseball) I think this is HIS sport! He has never been so excited as he has been at football! He has practice 6 days a week for 2 hours at a time! YIKES! We are muddling through and have decided all summer days are gone! How can we even go camping when he is at football on Friday night until 8 pm and has practice first thing Saturday morning at 8 am!?! that sucks! But like I said, take a look at his picture and tell me he is not loving it? He comes home almost every practice so excited to tell me he knocked the biggest kid on the team on his butt and made him cry. Then he comes home and tells me he knocked the fattest kid on the team on his but and made him cry. I said Jaxon you don't want to make enemies on the team with everyone do you? He says, Dad said it was okay! I ask Gregg if it was and he said yea, they'll get over it and then they will watch out for him next time?! OH MY GOSH ARE BOYS DIFFERENT THAN GIRLS!!!

What is a summer.....

What is a summer without chocolate.....

A new term for me! I always thought summers were about ice cream and Popsicles and lemonade and parades, and playing outside.....boy are my ideas old and outdated! Yes, here in the Petersen house hold we do chocolate....

After the number of request to make all sorts of chocolate treats I enlist help occasionally! Zeke LOVES to help! He is super cute with it too. He goes over and brings the big heavy chair to the oven all by himself!
Look close at Zeke. This week he has had some of the most unfortunate events! He got two black eyes, scrapped off one of his finger nails on the driveway, and got a huge fat lip. No I don't beat my children, sometimes they are just targets for accidents! Poor Zeke!

Oh what do you do in the summertime???

Well for us this summer (due to unfortunate circumstances early in the summer) we played it by ear. The plans for camping over and over and Disneyland have come and gone! But we still have had a ton of family fun on the boat! The boys sure do like the idea of boating much more than they actually like boating. They think they are such hot stuff when we are at home getting ready to go, wearing the gloves and strutting around like they are so cool. But when we get to the lake it is another story!? So weird.....so what do I do? I jinx myself! I tell them, it is no big deal I have skied and wakeboarded for years and I have NEVER gotten hurt. Doesn't it hurt to fall though mom! No way! It is just the water I say! Then what happens? Well I am out having a blast learning to jump and land on the wakeboard (the pros make it look so easy!) . I get a really good jump (my mom said it was like 4 feet in the air--she also exaggerates a lot) and landed flat on my side....um okay that hurt a little. Took my breath away for a while but I kept wakeboarding. Then after I tried to jump again and it hurt a bit I thought well I better ski (yea as if skiing is easier on your body and wakeboarding?!). So I ski for a while and decide I am winded and get in the boat. Everytime I got up skiing or wakeboarding after the big crash I thought owe that hurts....but hey I am pretty tough! So I get in the boat and realize owey owey owey I can't breath very good! To make a long story short, yes the water that doesn't hurt to land in broke one of my ribs and was pushing on my lung! That totally sucks!!

Anyway, enough about me. This is as far as we got the boys to go this year. After a few mishaps with the tube, neither one of them want to tube (we need a new one). So they will only swim.
Zeke however loves to ride the tube! He thinks he is so big!!!
So I ask the boys why they don't want to get out and go. The story I get is that they think their Dad drives them crazy and tries to dump them. I told them I will drive them and the response from Jaxon is that yeah, that is probably just a trick to get me out there and then you will trade with Dad and he will drive.....what little trust my boys have in me! Kaden on the other hand will go out and try, but like I said we need a new tube, for some reason with Kaden it always turns into a submarine....poor kid. I feel so bad!

Summer has come and gone!

Oh my goodness, where does time go? Our summer has come and gone! The boys started school already at the end of July! Jaxon is now in 3rd grade and is loving Mrs. Smith. Kaden is in 1st grade and with a little rocky start (missing home at all day school!) he is liking Mrs. Stott. Zeke is loving being big time too and going to school with Ms. Brooke. What preschool already for Zeke you say? Well let me tell you, sometimes things are not as good as they seem to be. Well my new job is going great. However, for some reason I think he (meaning my new boss) liked me in the interview and wanted to tell me what I wanted to hear to make sure I would take the job. Don't get me wrong the job is great and all I have no complaints other than the fact he told me I would be able to work as much or as little as I wanted from home......later to find out all client files would not be able to leave the office. HHHMMMMM well let's see I probably wouldn't be able to work on much if I don't have those files with me. I can certainly remote access into the server in the office however, that really does me no good if I don't have those files! Anyway, I think I am learing a ton and I am liking what I am doing. So yes, Zeke is in daycare now! He goes for about 3 hours a day Monday through Thursday and every other Friday. So we called it his school! And let me tell you how excited he was that he was old enough to go to school like the big boys! It is working out, as things usually do. I really hate to leave him but I am finding it is okay for us for now! Look how cute he is. When we took this picture he was so excited to have his very own little backpack (like the big boys) and he was saying cheese louder than both of the other two together!
