Today was Jaxon's first day of second grade! He is in a portable this year. He doesn't know what to think of that just yet. But I have heard good things about his new teacher and I know he will do well. Just look at him doesn't he look too darn cool to be in school??!! So handsome, just like his dad!
He is such a nice boy. He really tries his best to look out for the one who is not quite so sure of himself and Jaxon tries his best to make them feel better. He got the Peacemaker award at the end of school last year and I really think he is such a nice kid. Yet, you know a cool dude when you see one!! He has coolness coming out of his vapors!

Floats in the morning and Floats at night
I love a parade. As a kid we always went to the parade. My Dad used to park the truck right up to the green line and we would sit right on the back of the tailgate or on the top of the truck sleeper. While my wonderful husband does not share this enjoyment, my parents still do. so this year I drug my parents along with us. Jaxon and I went early to get a spot (which ended up being a really good spot). Nana and Papa came later with Kaden and Zeke. We loved to watch the parade floats and bands. And we were especially awed by the trick the SLPD did. One of the patrol officers actually stood on his bike as it went down the street. The boys LOVED it.
Zeke really did well. I don't know if it was because he was so tired (we got him up at 6am) or if he was really interested in it. We just left the smorgasborg of snacks on his tray and he was in hog heaven. By the looks of this pic he was seriously concentrating on what he was watching (which right now was the police officers.
Well what is the 24th without fireworks? So we purchased quite a load of fireworks this year and invited the Petersen clan over to share the fireworks and some Rootbeer floats. We all had a good time!
Jaxon, Skyler & Kaden
Connie, Julynne, Darcee, Lil Eddie (Darcee's Baby), Neil
Oh and lets not forget the fantastic fireworks!!!

LEMONADE .25 cents
The boys are always asking me to have a lemonade stand. So today I promised them we could have one. I had made cookies the night before and told them they could sell them too. Jaxon had a little heartburn about this because he chose for me to make the peanut butter cookies (his favorite choice of the moment). But I promised I would make more, than he was more than willing. Notice the sign, he put 'NEW' next to the cookies. Gregg asked what that was for and Jaxon said it was because he had not sold his Mom's peanut butter cookies before, he has only sold chocolate chip and oreo. Well I guess he was right.....
Oh by the way, they came and asked me how to get customers. I suggested to ride their bikes around (in the 100 degree weather) and shout punch and cookies. He informed me they already tried that. So they ended up packing up the stroller (we don't have a wagon--although Kaden suggested we could buy one for a dollar at the dollar store) taping the sign to the front and went door to door! They made $7.60....I am not quite sure how the extra .10 came into it. But Kaden said they had the funnest time of their life! My boys are not dramatic or anything! They have said they are going to do it again and save up the money for Lagoon! I am sure Gregg is so excited....I am sure he is going to try to eat the next batch before they are sold!

Kaden Plays Tee Ball
Kaden's baseball was so fun this year. He played for Bingham baseball, rookie division. This year he played coach pitch/tee ball. He did really well too. Tee ball is so funny because everyone wins!! It is great, all are up, all get hits, all get home. What a great non-competitive way to start out! Kaden always asks me after the games what was the score mom? Did we win? I just grin and say yup, you played awesome!!
Kaden also got picked from his team to play on the all star team. But 2 days before the game he broke both the bones on his right hand riding on his scooter. It was so sad. I felt bad for him. we still went to the game to get his t-shirt and to sit with his team. He was such a good sport and is so excited to get his cast off (this Wednesday). Dad was a great help for him to make him feel better sitting in the dugout with him.......so sweet!

Jaxon plays kid pitch Baseball
We wanted to share with you Jaxon's big highlights of the baseball season. He still thinks a first base hit is just the same as a walk from balls. We have tried to convince him otherwise, but it is his first year playing on the big boys team.
His team won 1st place in the Peewee division. Most of the boys on his team were older than him. It was his first year playing for Bingham baseball and he tried out and was put on the kid pitch team. We were so proud!! He learned a lot this year and is struggling right now because, well he was not the biggest hitter on his team, or the pitcher. But we are trying to tell him he did awesome and it takes time.....Keep practicing. He is also VERY competitive with his little brother, so when Kaden gets his cast off and starts throwing again, I am sure Jax will try to one up him!
Also...funny. You can hear Gregg in the video. He was SO excited with Jaxon's hit he accidentally turned off the video, you get the jist though!!

Chocolate!
I have turned into the BIGGEST chocolate fan ever! I owe that to my wonderful husband. I used to only be a candy/sugar gal, but he has definitely converted me to his world of chocolate.
Our boys share the same love for chocolate. It started when I would work from 7-11 am. Gregg and the boys started their 'special day'. Gregg used to have every other Friday off. On his days off he would be with the boys in the morning. To make this day special with their Dad, he would take them to Harmon's (only Harmon's their is NO SUBSTITUTE) and pick up some donuts and chocolate milk. Well Gregg being the frugal one he is, decided chocolate bars were so much more economical, you know you get so much more chocolate donut for the same amount of money. Anyway, to make a long story short, it was put on hold for quite a while when I started to be home. Me being the health nut I am, it drove me crazy to have the boys sit and (I left this out before but it is a definately important part of the special day) and watch Star Wars all morning while snacking on what ended growing to 1 WHOLE DOZEN chocolate bars! I gave in because how can you say no to beautiful brown and green eyes beaming up at me saying, "please can we have donuts and watch Star Wars"? Well who am I to mess up the 'special day'. So as you can see Zeke is even in on the fray. But for Zeke he just eats the chocolate frosting and leaves the rest of the donut.
While I can pass on chocolate donuts, my weakness is pretty much any other type of chocolate....my fav is ghirardelli. And if there is a combination of Ghirardelli and peanut butter in the house.....look out!

Boys, boys boys
I am living the dream I thought I always wanted as a teenager. I would have thought being surrounded by boys was the coolest thing in the world! Growing up with 4 sisters was hard!! We all had our pissy time of the month and it always seemed to be at the same time! Everyone used to say, "oh your poor Dad!" I would reply with "whatever poor us!" I guess I have a different point of view now. Don't get me wrong, I love my boys but I do feel a little left out. I mean at least my Dad had somewhat 'use to be' (aka neutered) male cats running around the house. Me no, I have a husband 3 boys 2 male dogs, a male turtle and a male gecko. Man, talk about testosterone overload. I don't know which is worse testosterone or estrogen.....
I am just glad my boys are small now. I hope their temper does not flare like my husbands used to when he was a teenager. He was known to have made a few holes in the walls and doors due to the testosterone spike!! (I guess that is his excuse!?) I do love boys! Especially when they are so tough around everyone and I get to see the sweet side that is not so cool to show around people. They are awesome, all of them. Zeke was not in the picture because it was bed time. But that would have just made the picture that much more challenging to capture anyway.

I fell in love again today....for the first time
I am a HUGE fan of Edward Cullen! Every time I read his words I melt. My husband has to shake me to remind me "it is just a book......He is not real!" Well maybe this is true but I had my little piece of Edward this morning. You know, you just get used to people and places you are around for a while. You have to make a point to realize the important little things that are done. Especially after being with Gregg for the past 15 years (13 married, 2 dating). It is so important to remember and point out the little things that just become so "routine" and "ordinary" in our lives can be and are our dreams. So this morning when Gregg was dragging himself out of bed he got up only to return a minute later. He rolled over and squeezed me and held me for 5 more minutes........I know, I know, sigh!!! Was this because he was still so tired? Was this because I was just there and not his body pillow? Or was this his way of saying "I love you, good morning"? Whether it was the other two I will choose to believe it was the last. Gregg has always been my knight in shining armor. He has been there for me so many times. I love him with all my heart. I need to remind myself of all of the wonderful things he does before I go swooning over Edward Cullen, because while he may not be his clone, Gregg is real. He is right in front of me, sticking with me through thick and thin. I love him for everything he is and everything he is not! I am so lucky to have him in my life and be my companion forever! I love you!!

Can it EVER BE CLEAN????
Okay so what can I say? I am the MEANEST MOM EVER!!! But mind you my boys WILL know how to clean a toilet! I am sure it is due to the fact I am completely disgusted by boys lack of hitting right on the spot?! I started this whole making them clean the toilets a while ago thinking it will encourage them to TRY to hit it right on the spot?! (they do have a whole bowl to aim for) But alas, no it hasn't! Oh well. I get the privilege of being labeled the meanest mom ever!! And it took two whole days for the boys to clean the playroom. After these two long days, the punishment was on me! I gave in and helped them?!?! Ugghhh. I heard it is a lot easier to do things yourself but it is so important to teach them at a young age?! I don't know what I believe right now. So for today I get to look at clean toilets, clean microwave's........
But alas, there will always be a mess when I turn around?! Oh the joys of Motherhood?! I love em.

Here we are

Well, we have arrived...... after months and months and months of being harassed about setting up a blog for her, it is now done. It is working and displaying properly. The colors are not her choice but they will have to do for now. I'm sure that very shortly there will be changes. But for now, it is what it is. Here is a picture of the perfect evening sunset.
