Oh what do you do in the summertime???

Well for us this summer (due to unfortunate circumstances early in the summer) we played it by ear. The plans for camping over and over and Disneyland have come and gone! But we still have had a ton of family fun on the boat! The boys sure do like the idea of boating much more than they actually like boating. They think they are such hot stuff when we are at home getting ready to go, wearing the gloves and strutting around like they are so cool. But when we get to the lake it is another story!? So weird.....so what do I do? I jinx myself! I tell them, it is no big deal I have skied and wakeboarded for years and I have NEVER gotten hurt. Doesn't it hurt to fall though mom! No way! It is just the water I say! Then what happens? Well I am out having a blast learning to jump and land on the wakeboard (the pros make it look so easy!) . I get a really good jump (my mom said it was like 4 feet in the air--she also exaggerates a lot) and landed flat on my side....um okay that hurt a little. Took my breath away for a while but I kept wakeboarding. Then after I tried to jump again and it hurt a bit I thought well I better ski (yea as if skiing is easier on your body and wakeboarding?!). So I ski for a while and decide I am winded and get in the boat. Everytime I got up skiing or wakeboarding after the big crash I thought owe that hurts....but hey I am pretty tough! So I get in the boat and realize owey owey owey I can't breath very good! To make a long story short, yes the water that doesn't hurt to land in broke one of my ribs and was pushing on my lung! That totally sucks!!

Anyway, enough about me. This is as far as we got the boys to go this year. After a few mishaps with the tube, neither one of them want to tube (we need a new one). So they will only swim.
Zeke however loves to ride the tube! He thinks he is so big!!!
So I ask the boys why they don't want to get out and go. The story I get is that they think their Dad drives them crazy and tries to dump them. I told them I will drive them and the response from Jaxon is that yeah, that is probably just a trick to get me out there and then you will trade with Dad and he will drive.....what little trust my boys have in me! Kaden on the other hand will go out and try, but like I said we need a new tube, for some reason with Kaden it always turns into a submarine....poor kid. I feel so bad!

glad you have been able to get out and use your boat - looks like tons of fun! my girls would be the same though, they didn't care for tubing when we tried it.
